About Us

Up on North Beeline Highway, where the Mogollon Rim country starts to show its character, Payson Elks Lodge #2154 has been doing something quietly remarkable: showing up. Every Thanksgiving, the Lodge opens its doors for a free community dinner, welcoming veterans, locals, and travelers alike. A Navy vet wintering in nearby Tonto Basin showed up one year and left grateful. That kind of moment does not happen by accident.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has operated on a simple promise since its founding in 1868: put community first. Lodge #2154 carries that forward in the high-country pines of Payson, a town that expects its neighbors to mean what they say. Members here are ranchers, retirees, active-duty families, and longtime Rim Country residents who believe a handshake still counts for something.

With a 4.6-star rating across more than 115 reviews, the Lodge earns its reputation through consistent effort, not marketing. Banquet events, charitable drives, veteran support programs, and regular social gatherings fill the calendar year-round. If you have been looking for a place where membership actually means something, this is it.

What We Offer

Lodge #2154 hosts a full calendar of events open to members and their guests. Banquet dinners mark holidays and special occasions throughout the year, and the free Thanksgiving community dinner has become a tradition that draws veterans and families from across the Rim Country.

Beyond the dining room, the Lodge supports veterans through benefit programs tied to the national BPOE network, coordinates charitable giving within the Payson area, and provides a gathering space for civic and fraternal meetings. Youth programs, scholarship opportunities, and community fundraisers round out the Lodge's annual commitments.

Membership opens access to reciprocal privileges at Elks Lodges nationwide, making it especially valuable for retirees and travelers who spend time across multiple states. Whether you are a lifelong Payson resident or a snowbird passing through Gila County, Lodge #2154 offers a consistent, welcoming home base.

"I'd like to thanks the members and staff for hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner. I'm a Navy Veteran staying in Tonto Basin, Arizona with my girlfriend for the winter from Montana. Stay in a small RV makes it difficult at best to bake a turkey. Big Thanks from Marilyn and I to everyone today from the Elks Lodge that took the time to prepare, cook, decorate and clean. In my opinion The Eks Lodge truly represents community spirt and made this vet and his girlfriend feel welcome. Great job Elks!!!"

"Attended an event last night. The servers and staff were great but the food? 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Chicken was dry and no seasonings. Green beans tastes like they were poured out of a can and served with boiled bacon. Green beans had no seasoning and didn't taste a hint of bacon so I'm not sure they cooked it together. My son had French fries with chicken nuggets. The fries tasted like freezer burnt fries with zero seasoning. I didn't try his chicken nuggets. The cinnamon with apples was bland. I was so upset I spent $30 for this."

"This old man claiming to be the owner yelled at me for parking there for a few minutes even though it was an empty lot. I do not suggest supporting this "business" by any means after the way they treat me and my friends"

"We stayed 2 nights in our RV. They have some 50amp &30amp sites with water. Most sites were fairly level. There are a lot of goat heads (a thorny plant) in the RV area. I would recommend wearing hard soled shoes. Everyone in the lodge was so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our time visiting with the fellow Elk's."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
